Craft Lab: Fabric covered Bangles

In progress, bangles covered in fabric. So easy, a little messy, really fun to make. I picked up these vintage bangles at our local thrift stores. Cut the fabric in to strips a little wider than the bracelet, applied glue on bracelet, after it dries, trim the edge with cuticle scissors. Then, keep applying the Mod Podge coat after coat. I also do a wet sanding, to smooth out the finish a bit.

I walked into one of our local fabric stores a few weeks back and they had a whole end cap of Amy Butler fabric. I did a little happy dance right there in the store. I usually have the buy this online and the fact that I could just drive over and touch the fabric is so darn exciting. I'm a happy girl. So, if you live in Orange County and are driving down the 405, get off on Warner and head straight over to Jenny's Fabric's. It's a nice independent store. They'll even order yardage for you if they don't have it in stock.

I love this pattern from Jessica Jones of How About Orange. I'd really like to figure out a way to use this. My idea buy 2 yards of this fabric and make the fabric like an oil cloth, by ironing on some Heat n Bond to iron on a vinyl on top, then reupholster our counter stools. It would cost about about $30 in supplies. This seems like a good price to redesign a space in our home. Stay tuned.
