Tagging our Monarchs
Norma Gibbs Park is a flutter with Monarch Butterflies right now. We tagged and freed over 50 Monarch Butterflies recently. Hopefully, they will lay lots of eggs all over our park's milkweed. It's so exciting to see the Monarchs fly all over. I'm so thankful to my friend Leslie, whom single handily turned this overgrown and mostly dead park around. Now, it's a safe place to bring our children, so they can explore the beauty of the Monarchs. We tag the butterflies to track their migration. Last year, one of our tagged beauties flew to Camp Pendleton.
