Cholla Forest

We spent the part of our week in Joshua Tree. Here's my photos of the Cholla Cactus Forest in the middle of the park. This time of year in the desert, the vegetation is scarce and brown.  These Cactus' are breath taking from close and afar. 

I feel so grateful to have found such a beautiful place for our little family to explore and take a break from all the good stuff at home.

end of summer camping

We have had an amazing summer. Our last hooray camping trip was divine.  We camped in our favorite place and it did not disappoint.   The water was warm and the waves were just right for our little people. I even went in. Kinda life changing for me, conquering fears and living in the moment. Here's some photos, enjoy!

BIG trees

Summer is flying by. We only have 4 more weeks until the kids are back in school and life will be back to normal. We have been very busy this summer, making the most of it. Here are some photos of our trip to the Sequoia National Forest. We had such an amazing trip, here are some photo of the Muir Grove. The trees took my breath away. It felt special eating our lunch underneath these giant trees. We are diffidently going back to this beautiful place.

We tried the whole trip to get a good family shot for the Christmas card.  None of them came out.  But I sure have fun every time running thought the woods to get in the photo each time. 

dreaming of summer

I can't help but feel like summers already here. The warm days and longer nights hint at what is to come. This summer we are going to be camping in new places, having new adventures and making wonderful family memories. Jeez, I can barely wait!

we had a party

We spent our spring break camping at the beach. 
On our last day, my sweet daughter celebrated her 9th birthday.  
We had one of those plan B type of days.   I had planned a beach party with her best friends, but some crazy weather waylayed our plans. We hit the road and went on a little adventure. 
She had a wonderful time and we had fun celebrating her!

Camping Fun!

Joshua Tree 2011

I just love that feeling when things all work out and you're able to achieve something you've wanted to do for a while. It's been 2 years since we're made it to Joshua Tree for some camping and family memory making.  We lucked out and got an awesome site in White Tank.  We spent 4 wonderful days bouldering over the beautifully sculpted rocks.  We even climbed a mountain on New Years Day.  Here are a few photos of the scenery.
