Craft 52 week 15: Glittered Easter Eggs

Craft 52
week 15

Glittered Eggs

I decorated for Easter and didn't really love the decor, so I decided we needed a little sparkle.

Here's the before

These are just not my style, not vintage, and not modern.

First, I painted on the Mod Podge all over the egg.

The egg is completely covered with glue.

Next, I sprinkled the glitter all over the egg.

Much Better!

This took about 10 minutes to tweak my little eggs.  10 minutes well spent, now I don't cringe when I look at my Easter Tree.

Easter Decorating

In an effort to get my house ready for my Stella and Dot Party, I've been cleaning, decorating and painting stuff.
This year's Spring decor is all about birds and butterflies.

The decoupage and glittered eggs adorn the dinning room table.

I even hung up some of my art.

Spring Decor: Peacocks and Reniculas

Spring is here and we're enjoying it everyday. This year I kept the Easter decorations to a minimum. Thanks to Target we have some new peacock themes going on. I hung up a bunch of peacock feathers to make a feathery mobile for the dining room. Trader Joe's had the most beautiful Renuculas, that are now beautifying every room.

Craft Lab: Recycled Easter Basket

My daughter had an Easter party at school this week. She was asked to bring a basket filled with eggs. So we whipped up this using a large grocery bag, a couple pieces of scrapbook paper, and the stapler. It only took 5 minutes. Does it show? It's cute and served it's purpose.
The bag is from Designing Whims, a must see store in Los Alamitos, CA. They offer an array of interior design services. This family run business is the real deal, and has been around for over 35 years. If you are need of design services and live in So Cal, give them a ring.
