Politics-We saved our State Park
Yesterday, we packed up the kids and traveled 2 hours south to Del Mar, Ca for the California Coastal Commission Meeting. When we arrived, I was a bit taken back by all the 3000 people who also came out to stand up against the extension of the 241 toll road. Basically, the toll road would go directly next to one of California's most popular camping spots as well change Trestles, a world renowned surf spot. The environmental impact of the road would be devastating to this area. The meeting went on long into the night, and the commission voted 8-2 against the toll road. I'm so glad to have experienced our government first hand, and see something positive happen. This was a huge victory!
