Inside Design: Drapery Calculator
Here's a little secret I use when I need to figure out yardage for draperies. Wesco is a fabric company that sells and makes draperies to the trade only. However, they have an awesome drapery calculator on line that anyone can use. Check it out by clicking on the header above. Things to think about when figuring out your own yardage: always choose a fullness of 2.5x to 3x fullness on draperies, when you skimp it's obvious every time. To figure out a shower curtain, the standard is 72" by 72". However, I find it a little more pleasing to the eye to have a longer shower curtain, that hangs a closer to the ceiling(84" to 90" for a 8' ceiling). Ask yourself if you want a flat curtain or one with folds? A flat panel will use way less fabric. When using a decorative shower curtain, always hang a liner be hide it so the fabric does not get wet. Good luck, leave a comment if you have any questions.
