Solana Beach- Solo

We make the trek to Solana Beach so I can go to my favorite store Solo. I get sad if I can't go. The store is set and up by individual vendors that sell the coolest and unique items all beautifully and artfully displayed. Here a a few shots of the place. It's a must see store if you are traveling to San Diego.

Solana Beach-101 shops Antique Warehouse

I escaped the family for about 20 minutes the other day on our vacation and literally ran through this treasure filled Antique Mall. I have tried to visit this store on many occasions, but it's always closed on the days I visit. But not this time. On my run through the store, I saw lots of fun mintage items. They had great chandeliers and lots of turquoise glass.

Mc Garth State Beach

We spent last week exploring a new camp spot, Mc Grath State Beach. Hailed the best bird watching park in California, this out of the way beach was very tranquil. During March thru Sept, most of the sand dunes are closed so the endangered Least Tern can lay their eggs on the beach and raises their babies. We were lucky enough see one of the nests in the sand thanks to the nice camp host/docent. These little terns are very protective, and will let you know when you are too close to their eggs by singing and flying all around, almost attacking you. The beach was fun, lots of sand crabs catching and castle building going on. The driftwood along the beach provided great shelters to protect us from the sun and wind. Our trip was filled with lots of frogs, squirrels, bunnies, birds, crabs and lizards. I can't wait to get back to the beach.
