my new blue room

We've been slowly updating our room over the last few months.  First we replaced our huge over-sized sleigh bed with a new upholstered headboard.  We gained so much space in our little room just by making that change.  Then we painted the walls to a peacock blue.  It's dark and changes color all day from green to blue.  I love the color, it brings to me to my happy place.  It took me a while to find the perfect bedside wall mounted swing lamps, but I finally found some modern beauties by George Kovacs.   I'm thrilled with them after installation, the brass is beautiful in person.  We are on the hunt for something to hang above the bed, a metal sculpture I hope.  Enjoy!

New Bedding

It takes me a long time to finsh up design projects at home. I think about everything for a long time and make sure I make the right purchases. Back in September we painted and redid my 8 year olds bedroom.  Here it is:

We have everything done except the bedding.  I finally picked here up a duvet insert and we picked out this lovely cover from Urban Outfitters on sale to boot!  The room is primarily blue but has green and lavender accents too.  The big floral of the duvet will pull the whole thing together.  I can wait till it gets here.

I also purchased this cover for the master bedroom.  We've had a lovely white cover that folds over the end of the bed which I love, but this one will be add to the rotation now too.  I also found this one was on sale too!

I'm ordering this: Whitewall & Co - Patterns

I love wallpaper! However, I do not have a wallpaper budget. I stumbled across this fabulous design resource and think I might have solved my design problem. These over sized stencils would give me the look I want for an affordable price. Now, I just need to start looking for paint colors. The bedding is white and grey. I love metalics and could easily paint the walls a light shimmery shade, then stencil a darker color over. I'm super excited! Check out the other offerings from Whitewall & Co - Patterns.
