A cold trip to see the birds

We braved the cold and wind to visit our wetlands between the rain showers this weekend. The birds were aplenty and put on a great show for us.

Another day at the wetlands. I watched this white egret forever, it was a fabulous hunter. My little point and shoot camera even caught a bird in flight.

Lately, life has been kind to us. We are sneaking it all in and wearing a smile on our faces the whole time. As our date nights have slipped away, we have found other ways to spend time together. Being in nature is very spiritual for us. Luckily, we live less then 2 miles from the Bolsa Chica Wetlands. During the fall it's all brown and some might say ugly. However, if you pay attention, beauty is at every turn.

I spy a Hawk

This little hawk visited us this week. I barely had time to grap the camera before it flew off. The kids had made a water puddle in the back yard and this hawk stopped by for a sip. We live near a water way and it always exciting to see all the different kinds of bird.
