I was excited a couple of weekends ago when my mom found this cute magazine end table on her garage sale route. I pondered all for a while on what fabric to adorn the top with. I found this beautiful Amy Butler fabric at one of my local fabric stores and fell in love. So, the next day I primed the whole table with this lovely shade of robin's egg blue, cut the fabric to fit, glued it on with my favorite craft product Mod Podge, rolled out the bubbles, applied many coats of Mod Podge to the top, did a few wet sandings, and finished the whole thing off with a nice clear coat of finish. It felt so good to work on a new project. This would be a lovely piece for a bathroom, bedside table or nd end table. I can't wait to decoupage something else. OH MY GOD that's so weird - I picked up a magazine rack almost EXACTLY the same as this the other day. I found it on the street! I have been meaning to 'redo' it, but wasn't sure. Now you have inspired meee! Thank you!

I painted this with some left over primer I had from painting my garage a bright blue. I just add a clear coat of a water based clear coat on top to seal it. Beacuse it's a primer, it's just tinted, but it's a robin's egg blue. I hope that helps.
i didn't realize you could modgepodge fabric onto a table (i'm behind the diy time, i guess.) i love this look and i'm going to have to try it.
