The Dish: onions

We got another one of these huge onions this week. I'm a bit behind on the veggies because of all the fun we're having around here. The onion on the right has been cut up into the most yummy salsa(tomatoes, radish, garlic, carrot, onion, cilantro, lemon, pepper and salt) and last night I just cut the rest into 1" pieces and steamed them. We ate the steamed onions with steamed green beans. Sweet and delicious, and very simple.

Yum! I need to do a batch of salsa today as well. So easy to do in the summer with all the incredible produce!

We got one of those in our Tanaka Farms box last week, too. I wonder if they are the ones they co-plant with the strawberries for pest control?
