Oh My: yellow watermelon

How cool is this? We sliced opened our CSA watermelon and look what we found, the flesh of this watermelon is bright yellow. It was delicious too! Thank You Tanaka Farms!

Are you looking for organic delivery? Here in on the west coast we have Spud, they deliver great organic produce if you don't have a local CSA in your area.

Here's our last CSA box for the summer. It's been so much fun coming up with delicious recipes every week to use it all up. So far this week, I made a Caprece salad with the tomatoes, fresh mozzarella, and basil. Then, we boiled the corn on the cob, which was sweet like candy. We're bringing the peppers, lettuce, carrots and cucumber to a birthday party on Sunday. It will be weird buying produce again at the store.

The Dish: onions

We got another one of these huge onions this week. I'm a bit behind on the veggies because of all the fun we're having around here. The onion on the right has been cut up into the most yummy salsa(tomatoes, radish, garlic, carrot, onion, cilantro, lemon, pepper and salt) and last night I just cut the rest into 1" pieces and steamed them. We ate the steamed onions with steamed green beans. Sweet and delicious, and very simple.

the biggest onion I have ever seen

I signed up for my CSA for the summer, and opened my first box and found this inside. OMG. I had no idea what it was until I went on the Tanaka Farms website and saw it was a Maui Onion. I sliced it up and made caramelized onions. So sweet and delicious.
