Spring Nesting

I have a very large jewelry collection. It's too much and I seriously can't part with any of it. I'm a hoarder when it comes to jewelry.   Over the years I have been given or inherited as many lovely things.  This is just some of my baubles.  What a mess!
Before
After
I sorted everything and put my fancy stuff back into my big jewelry box.  Now, all my beaded necklaces and non bangle bracelets are sorted. I did manage to weed a little bit out and put the "outs" in the jewelry making bin in the garage.  Now, I can see all my bangles...I think I could even put more in there!

You see I'm hosting a Stella and Dot party in a few weeks and think I may need some space.   I love this stylish line, they mix vintage and modern together quite nicely.

I really want the bracelet on the bottom of this stack.  Oh and the gold bangle too!

Oh My : pretty plastic bins

Before
this space may be organized, but it looks a mess

After
wow-so pretty

My first p-touch died a while back. So, my parents picked me up a new one at Costco. I love it. So does my 7 year old. She's label crazy just like me. I covered the front panels of the plastic bins with some scrape book paper from Amy Butler. Super easy and pretty to boot!

Oh My: Organized Life

The After

Living in a small house is always challenging when trying to juggle 4 people's belongings. I personally don't do well with clutter. I believe it's toxic in our house and I pretty much keep this place in order. However, I have some places I've been avoiding cleaning out forever.

Our summer began with my 5 year old son wanting his own room. This move was planned to happen after our kitchen remodel, which is now on hold 'til we save enough money. So, I pulled all the girl toys out of the playroom, and pulled all his clothes from his shared room with his sister into the playroom. I just moved the trundle bed from their shared room into the playroom and moved his dresser, too. Done right?

OMG they both had so much stuff. The room looked horribly cluttered. So over the past few weeks we've been purging stuff left and right.

Every night when I tuck him in he has a new item he wants for his room. First, he wanted a dirty clothes basket. So, I headed over to the Container Store and picked up the perfect one. The next night it was a window treatment, so I ordered one online and threw up a sheet. Now the next evening he needed a nightlight because the room was too dark. Boy, is this ever going to stop? A few nights later he said he wanted his own closet. You see the closet was full of my stuff. Mommy really loves this boy and he's so good and kind, I had to clean the darn closet. I did it!!!! I did it!!!!

I'm organized. My crafts are all in one space. I threw out lots of stuff. I was holding onto a lot of items for future art/craft projects. I thought to myself, about being in the present and in the present I'm not crafting. I basically just let it all go. I feel free, free from my stuff. It feels so great, I do a happy dance every time I open my new space.

I'm doing the CURE over at Apartment Therapy

I'm ready to take our home to the next level, so I'm participating in Apartment Therapy's Fall Cure. I purchased the book on Amazon last week and got it yesterday. What a fab read. Our house isn't bad by any means, I just want to dig deep and declutter, organize, and create a nice environment for all four of us. That means for the next 8 weeks I will be chronicling the process. My main concerns are a few closets, a file cabinet, and the craft supplies. I haven't been able to do this on my own and feel the program will help. We also have a few rooms that could be a little more done, by hanging art work and maybe a fresh coat of paint. I will also be deep cleaning our spaces. Dust is clutter, so out goes the dust! Needless to say, I'm very excited to get started!

Before and After : Organizing the Ribbons

With two kids in school now, I have time to get my life together and organized. Here's my cut ribbons and spools. I'm a saver, but on this day I had to throw a lot of bits and scraps away. Clutter be gone thank you!

Oh My- Life and Home

It's been a busy summer around here. The first week of school was even busier with Vegas and a birthday. So now, I need to rest and regroup. I'm decluttering, rearranging and I'm setting out on a mission to purge the house. I'm also working on me. I'm changing up the exercise from running to walking and adding more workouts to switch things up a bit. On the crafting front, most of the organizing is revolving around all my supplies. I've been putting it off big time. I haven't been crafting much, but I painted a large canvas yesterday. It was fun and the whole family got into it. This photo is me at my son's prehistoric birthday party. This huge frog was slimey and heavy.
